Accademia Vergnano

The international finals take place at the Accademia Vergnano in Chieri, Italy.

The Accademia Vergnano, once the historical family house where it all started, is now a beautiful and welcoming place, where baristas from all over the world can learn and master the art of espresso.

It is recognised as Italy’s SCA Premier Training Campus, featuring specialized academic courses and training programs designed to convey the all-round culture, secrets and professionalism required to master the art of espresso.

Both national and international level feature technical and sensory evaluations, culminating in a comprehensive final assessment.

The technical jury will consist of two judges. Each judge will assess each participant based on their skill in correctly preparing beverages and their individual style. Technical errors will be deducted from the total score. Each second of overtime beyond the provided minutes will be considered a penalty point.

The sensory jury consists of two judges who operate independently and will be responsible for evaluating the beverages and the speech of each competitor.

The results and ranking of the competitors will be determined by the sum of the sensory and technical evaluations.

Each competitor can bring their own accompanying music to the competition and it must be delivered in accordance with the contest rules.
